Ray Castillo opened Westport Auto Works in 2009 with two bays, one scan tool, and a habit the dealership he left never liked: showing customers the broken part before writing the estimate. That habit became the shop's operating rule, and it still is.
Today the shop runs three bays and five technicians, every one of them ASE certified, two of them ASE Master certified. We invest in factory-level scan tools for the makes we see most: Honda, Toyota, Ford, GM, Subaru, and Hyundai/Kia. When a car needs a specialist we say so and tell you who to call.
The numbers we run the shop by: 41,286 repair orders closed since opening, a 4.9 Google rating, and a comeback rate under 2 percent, tracked monthly on the whiteboard in bay one. When a repair does come back, it goes to the front of the line and the warranty covers it, parts and labor, for 24 months or 24,000 miles.
We are an independent shop. No service quotas, no upsell scripts, and the person who calls you about your car is the technician or advisor who had it on the lift.
